Hi! I am Candice, the owner and sole designer & builder at Nautical Home Designs. I’m the proud mother of two beautiful boys.

I've had a passion for interior decorating since I was a little girl and would always have projects on the go whether it was painting, upholstering, or re-decorating. It wasn't until 2014 that I bought my first saw to teach myself how to build some wall decor. It quickly became a passion, and.that’s when my entrepreneurial mind started to wonder what could become of this. When I moved back to Nova Scotia in January 2016, Nautical Home Designs was launched immediately.

Starting a business as a single mother was terrifying, but it has completely changed not just my life, but our life as a family. I love to encourage others that want to start their own businesses, to take the leap and do the same. 

What I love about woodworking is that it’s very therapeutic, it allows my creative side to come out & there is always something new to learn.
